DRESS CODE:

Dress has increasingly become an issue at John Glenn.  It is very important that students dress in a manner that will not distract from the educational process.  Cleanliness, neatness and appropriateness will be stressed.  Shoes are to be worn at all times.  Distasteful, distracting or revealing dress will not be permitted. If necessary, parents/guardians will be notified and asked to come to school to pick up their child or bring in proper attire. Please review the guidelines with your child and help monitor his/her dress.

The following guidelines indicate what type of dress will NOT be permitted in our school.

  • T-shirts or other garments with profanity, inappropriate language, suggestive messages, or tobacco/ drugs/ alcohol product advertising.
  • Midriff, haltertops, tank tops or spaghetti strapped shirts.
  • Clothing with large tears or that you can see through.
  • Short shorts, short skirts or sagging/low hanging pants.
  • Hats, caps, headwear, hoods, do-rags, or bandanas.
  • All gang related clothing or insignias (bandanas, hats, picks, combs and jewelry).
  • Excessive use of perfume, cologne, and hair spray.
  • Bags, backpacks, purses, and/or coats cannot be carried or worn during the school hours.
